Stengade skov, Langeland, 09-06-2019
Stengade Wood encompasses several cultural monuments, such as the remains of an old rampart – a relic of the battles with England, 1807–14, as part of the Napoleonic Wars, and “Oehlenschläger’s Beech”, a 200-year-old beech tree where the author Adam Oehlenschläger reputedly composed Denmark’s national song Der er et yndigt land (This Lovely Land Is Ours).

It was nerly impossible to find the Plover among the stones on the beach
