Statues in Tbilisi, January 2009

Georgians must have a weak spot regarding statues. There are statues everywhere, of all different kinds. Here is a little selection of the statues I passed during a walk to the city Sunday.

January 2009: Flat in Tbilisi

Friday I moved from the hotel to my new apartment, rather big, with a big living room and two bedrooms, and an impressive iron door with a very efficient mechanism for locking. The flat is situated on the main boulevard of Tbilisi, which goes from the city centre to the Vake district where I live and the project office is situated and further to the suburbs.

I have also got a fast Internet connection installed, so I can be in contact with the world around also in the weekends. The only problem is some heavy partying in the flat below mine. I think that I have learned all the most popular Georgian pop songs by now.

Tbilisi October 2008

My first visit to Georgia was short only four days, to get acquainted with the project and the situation and discuss my input with the Team Leader.

My Georgian colleague Eka arranged a visit to the old town one evening.
