In our Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we worked with three "water companies" as partners, a Bosnian / Muslim, a Croat and a Serb. In Thursday, October 12, we went to Bijeljina in the north - eastern part of BiH to meet with Serbian water company, after the meeting on Friday morning, the director had invited slivovic party at his father's country house. It proved that this particular day was started with the annual brewing year's supply of slivovic. The “Slivovic team” had come with their mobile brewery. In the garden a giant barrel filled with plums which had stood and fermented. Brewing slivovic is a hard work which seemed to last several days, but also would result in several hundred liters schnapps. The house was also provided with a party room with billiards and table tennis, so we had the mighty cozy. The only thing that did not work was the spit-roasted lamb we had been promised. By mistake they had been supplied with a live lamb instead of one that was slughtered, so it stood and complained out the garden, and was not ready to be eaten, so the director had to drive into a restaurant in town and buy some meat which actually tasted excellent. On Saturday morning we drove back to Sarajevo in somewhat weakened state - fortunately it was not me who had to drive.
