June 10, 2018: A red-rock wonderland - ARCHES NATIONAL PARK
ARCHES NATIONAL PARK
Arches is a landscape of contrasting colors, land forms and textures unlike any other in the world. The park has over 2,000 natural stone arches, in addition to hundreds of soaring pinnacles, massive fins and giant balanced rocks. This red-rock wonderland amazed us its formations.
Arches National Park is a United States national park in eastern Utah. The park is adjacent to the Colorado River, 4 miles (6 km) north of Moab, Utah.
The park consists of 310 km2 of high desert located in the Colorado Plateau. Its highest elevation is 1,723 m at Elephant Butte, and its lowest elevation 1,245 m. The park receives less than 10 inches (250 mm) of rain a year on average.
