Czech Republic, Prague, July 2012

We had a couple of days in Prague during the flower watching trip by Danish Botanists Association – we prioritised a visit to Prague, although the organiser of the trip considered it unserious to prioritise old dusty buildings in favour of beautiful new flowers.
We took the metro from our hotel to Wenceslas Square
One of the living statues of Prague needs a break
A view of the old town hall belfry at Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) where we went up to get an overview of the town

At the farewell party for the Danish Botanists there was served Roast pork with dumplings and Sauerkraut (pečené vepřové s knedlíky se zelím, colloquially Vepřo-knedlo-zelo) is considered the most typical Czech dish.
The last morning before leaving for DK we took a relaxing boat trip on the Vltava (in German Moldau)

Butterflies & other insects, Bílé Karpaty, Czech Republic, July 2012

Looking at flowers at Bílé Karpaty or the White Carpathians close to the border with Slovakia in the species-rich calcareous meadows there. The trip is arranged by the Danish Botanists Association - Lisbeth is one of its members. I was accompanying husband on the 10 day trip for flowers lowers. As I was not so dedicated to watch plants as the rest of the participants I spend some time trying to make photos of the butterflies and other insets in the meadows.
